Clean Foreman Grill with Wet Paper Towel
TIP OF THE DAY: The easiest way to clean your Foreman grill – right after using the grill, unplug it and place a wet double-sheet of paper towel between the lid and the surface. The leftover heat causes the towel to steam and clean the grill. Then just wipe it down with a clean paper towel.
Steps for Cleaning Grills that have Non-Removal Grill Plates
Clean while the grill is still warm, before any leavings have a chance to harden.
- After cooking the food and unplugging the grill, keep it open for 10 to 15 minutes, allowing it to cool slightly.
- Place several damp paper towels onto the grill and close the lid.
- Let the grill sit for a few minutes and then wipe it with paper towels.
- It may be necessary to get more clean towels once the others get dirty.
- Be sure and wipe under the bottom of the grill, where drippings often sit.
- Use the plastic spatulas that come with the grill to scrape off any hard-to-remove foods.
- Avoid using harsh scrubbers on the grill, as these may damage the non-stick surface.
- You can also use a soapy sponge to wipe down the interior.
For Grills with Removable Grill Plates
Clean the grill after it has cooled.
- Unplug the grill and let it cool completely.
- Use an oven mitt on the plates if you’re not sure they’re cooled off.
- Remove the plates and submerge in hot, soapy water.
- Use a soapy sponge to clean the plates and allow them to air dry.
- Avoid using metal scrubbing pads as they may damage the plates’ surfaces.
