Need a last-minute treat for the kiddies that’s quick, cheap and easy? Rice Krispie Treats on a stick. I tested these on my grandson, and he loved them!

Here you go…

Pumpkin Rice Krispie Halloween Pops

Pumpkin Rice Krispie Halloween Pops

3 Tbl butter
1/4 cup canned pumpkin puree
1 10 oz bag of pumpkin spice marshmallows
1 cup of regular marshmallows
1/2 tsp vanilla
1/4 tsp pumpkin pie spice
Pinch of salt
6-1/4 cups of crispy rice cereal
16 Pumpkin Spice Kisses chopped or sliced thin
Striped baking sticks, eyes, decorations, frosting, sprinkles, etc.

In heavy saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add pumpkin and cook until warmed.

Add all marshmallows. Gently stir until almost melted.

Stir in vanilla, pumpkin pie spice, salt and pumpkin spice kisses.

Cool for 10 minutes, then fold in the cereal.

To make balls:

Wait until the mixture is cool enough to handle, then spray your hands with cooking oil. Grab some of the mixture and press into a ball. Squeeze together as you're shaping. Then place the balls on wax paper and insert the sticks.

To decorate: For the ghost: I used regular cake frosting, then stuck on googly eyes. For the orange ball: I sprayed the ball lightly with cooking spray, then rolled it in orange sprinkles. For the black ball: I melted black candy wafers (at Michaels in the cake/candy section) and poured it over the ball. I found some eyeballs that had a stick pin and pushed the pick into the ball. Tie Halloween ribbon or regular ribbon on the sticks.

If you don’t have time to decorate, just make the balls and stick a stick in them. If you’re even more pressed for time, just smash the mixture into a buttered 13×9 pan. You’ll still have cool krispies that taste like pumpkin. Yum!!
